Ok, I should point out now that I'm still bawling as I type this so mis-spellings are the result of the fact that I can't see very much.

Before I post my incoherant thoughts I should just say that the two week of internet hiatus hell was SO worth it!!! Chosen would never has hit me as hard if I'd known what was coming

Ok, thoughts time

Just read the last wildfeed I will ever read for Buffy. As of next Monday I'm on internet hiatus until my final tape has arrived and I've seen the finale

Dirty Girls )

I've also been told my next Buffy and Angel tape should be posted next week. WHEE

AND my OMWF DVD arrived today. Will play with it at some point....can anyone explain why there's a Dark Angel interview as one of the special features though?

Hmm....

Well, I hate to say this but I'm going to anyway. Spike is starting to irritate me. I don't really know when it happened but I was watching The Real Me when I was capping my Vamp Andrew pic and I just realised how much I miss Snarky Spike. Where's my Big Bad gone? He's all slayer whipped now and despite me being a B/S shipper since S4, I'm not sure I like it now I've actually got it.

Still only 5 more episodes to go and then it's the end. Who knows, it might get better. Plus I have Andrew to entertain me and I DO like Wood. Am resisiting the urge to jump on the Buffy/Wood ship if such a thing exists. He's a nice guy like Riley, only cooler and not so annoying.

Hmm...

Finished watching my Buffy tape this evening. Saw Get It Done and Storyteller

[livejournal.com profile] mrthursday is going to be very cross with me but I sat down and watched some of my new Buffy episodes tonight. It was only 4! I was bored and couldn't help myself. I still have 2 more Buffy and a tape full of Angel to watch.

Anway, here are my comments on Showtime, Potential, The Killer In Me and First Date. Will cut to protect those in the UK who aren't me

Buffy goodness )

So there we go. I'm a happy Hils (this is quite an alien feeling to me after the crap I've been feeling the last couple of weeks.

Well, I finally saw the last episode of series 1 of Alias last night. I'll cut just in case

Grr Argh! )

Plus I've been ploughing through the West Wing and I've just found out that Season 2 isn't out on DVD yet. WHY are these TV people torturing me so? Do they not realise how long it's taken me to get into a show that ISN'T Buffy or Angel??

Still, at least we're pretty much covered with the Farscape situation. As far as I know it's all out on DVD so catching up isn't an issue.

And finally...

Buffy Wildfeed thoughts )

And yes I am aware that waffling on about all this tv makes me sound like a total nerd. Sorry

Ok, [livejournal.com profile] mrthursday has challenged me to write a defence for my Season choices. I should add at this point that my opinion of Season 7 is based up until Get It Done. Obviously the entire thing might crash and burn in the last few episodes.

So anyway, here we go.

Season 7 - Tight storyline, good character development. Everyone is really coming into their own this Season and I love the way that they're looking at what it really means to be a Slayer. Buffy herself is finally realising that she can stand on her own.

Season 2 - Back in the days when the jokes were witty and the characters were really starting to develop. The twist with Angel losing his soul really threw me and I still bawl my eyes out at the end when she has to send him to hell.

Season 5 - Ok, I admit it. I threw this in for the Spuffyness. Although I became a Spuffer in Season 4, 5 is where they really started to develop it. Plus Riley left which is a thing to be rejoiced. And of course there's the beautiful final episode which I never get tired of watching.

Season 3 - There is a chance I might rate this higher than 5 if I watch it again. To be honest I just didn't like the way they dealt with Angel's return from hell. Of course there are some brilliant episodes in this one, and Faith was kind of cool. Really threw me when she turned rogue. And The Mayer was a kind of cool Big Bad. Probably my second fave after Angelus.

Season 6 - I still maintain with what I said when I first saw this Season. Each episode on its own was fine. I can't think of one I didn't enjoy (except maybe Seeing Red but I see why it was needed). But there was no real overall plot to this other than character development. Whilst this is needed, I kind of like a decent story to carry it along too.

Season 1 - Ah, the good old days. I do have a soft spot for Season 1 despite where I placed it. But overall it's a little too basic for me.

Season 4 - Riley. Bad. The Initiative. Good concept but didn't really work. Adam. Crap! And two more words which sum up why this season sucked the most. Beer Bad!

In a moment of weakness I read some of the episode 17 spoilers just because I wanted to know what all the fuss was about

I don't get it )
hils: (Default)
Ok, here are some more theories on how this season might end. All of them contain Spike's death in some form as I have a gut feeling that he's a gonner. Still nothing to do with actual spoilers so don't worry. I'm totally guessing

1. Buffy and Spike die together, fighting side by side and saving the world with their final efforts

2. The world is saved and Spike gets his Shanshu, only to suddenly age 120 years and die in Buffys arms (I told you some of these were silly)

3. Buffy is about to sacrifice herself when Spike does what he felt he should have done the first time and does the job for her. Earning his redemption by giving his life to save the world

4. Sunnydale gets destroyed and the whole lot of them die. Except maybe Dawn who will go on to be the new hope

That's it. I may think of more so run and hide while you can

Went to work today and spent most of the time coughing, spluttering and generally feeling crappy. Oh, when will this stupid illness end.

Went shopping after work and made the fatal error of buying Tom the strategy guide for GTA Vice City. Like he doesn't play it enough already. Still, I've told him he can take my PS2 home for Christmas so maybe he'll get it out of his system. Or maybe not.

Read the wildfeed for this weeks Buffy. Was rather disappointed. Comments below.

I'm bad!! I've been doing so well. I've managed to stay pretty much spoiler free since Season 7 started. Obviously I need to read the wildfeeds, being in the UK and all, my site would kind of collapse if I didn't know what was going on.

Anyway, alas I caved today and read the spoilers for what happens in the next episode

Something really struck me about the basement scene in NLM. Now, I'm sure others have noticed this but here we go. Buffy says she believes in Spike and clearly she trusts him. Now, what were the last words she said to him in the bathroom before the attempted rape

"I don't trust you enough for it to be love."

Well, that's that issue resolved then. If the only thing preventing Buffy from loving Spike was trust then she's there :)

Still ill but feeling slightly more coherant now. Can now talk properly about this weeks Buffy

Before I go into details can I just say DAMNIT!! We've now got over a month of reruns which means I won't get my next tape until probably the middle of January. I still haven't seen Sleeper either!! Gah! Just when things are getting good!

It's not even like I can download them. My PC is about 6 years old and I don't have broadband. It just can't cope with something that big. POOP!

Ok, now for the spoilage

WOO! Writing class wasn't cancelled tonight and I had a sleep for an hour when I got home from work so I felt all refreshed. Was dreading reading my Back To School piece as its still very personal, but I got a lot of good feedback and the tutor has encouraged me to turn it into a short story. Nice to see something semi-productive has come out of my misery

For next week we've each been given a painting of one of the saints, and we have to write a monologue based on the painting about on of the 7 deadly sins (I've got lust). Should be an interesting task. My brain is already ticking. The question is how to write it. Not sure if I should use a biblical style or something a bit different. Oh well, it's something to muse over.

REALLY wanted to do some more work on my slash fic tonight. I've had an idea for a little scene to slip in before the kiss. Alas it's late and I have work tomorrow so the writing will have to wait. Poop! Working sucks. Why can't I sit around and write all day. Oh, if only I could win the lottory. Of course it would help if I actually bought a ticket

Just read the wildfeed for this weeks Buffy. Thoughts below

I wonder if they had the Season finale for S6 planned out when they wrote Tabula Rasa

Spike: I'm a vampire with a soul.
Buffy: A vampire with a soul? Oh my god how lame is that?

I wonder what the writers were thinking? Just a dig at Angel or something a bit more?

Just rewatched Season 6 of Buffy from Seeing Red until the end, followed by Lessons and Beneath You.

I found Seeing Red easier to watch this time, it was still unpleasant but I didn't get that sick feeling in my stomach that I got the first time.

One thing that got me was that Xander is actually quite cute. I've NEVER in the whole 7 seasons I've been watching had a thing for Xander, but I dunno, I just found myself liking him.

Another thing was the whole "I can't trust Spike, he doesn't have a soul" thing. They seemed to keep repeating it over and over and now that he DOES have a soul everyone besides Buffy seems to think that it doesn't make a difference. Where's the consistancy? No one blamed Angel for the things Angelus did. Why is this different?

Poor Tara. I miss her.
