I'm in the middle of replaying Dragon Age 2 and it got me in the mood to read some fic :D

M!Hawke/Fenris (Dragon Age)
Ace in the Hole by etamiss
Hawke spends most of his time getting rich and getting drunk (not necessarily in that order) while playing cards in taverns. While away from Kirkwall, he ends up playing against an overly confident Danarius who bets his slave, Fenris, as the main prize. (AU with canon setting)
I loved this one, especially the way Hawke was written

Fenris/Anders (Dragon Age)
From These Emerald Waters Doth Life Begin Anew by andrastesknickerweasle
As the Chantry burns, Fenris makes a mistake that will lead he and Anders into the Inquisition’s path, and a promise that will change their lives forever.
This was absolutely amazing! Can’t believe I never read it before

MEMENTO MORI by spicyshimmy
On one of his earlier escape attempts from the Circle, Anders makes it as far as Tevinter, but it's not the liberation he'd hoped for. Many years later, as part of Danarius's retinue, he meets up with the gang in Kirkwall during Act 3--but as a very different man. Hawke often enjoyed exploration after a skirmish, to cool his blood by picking through a vanquished foe’s meaningless effects. There were times when Fenris permitted it as a personal indulgence, and times when, for whatever reason, he did not.
Really interesting canon-divergence story

Paper and Cotton by calligraphypenn
Over the centuries, there developed in the Circle of Magi a tradition of showing affection, regard and intent through the giving of small, practical trinkets. It became a way to dodge any suspicion from the Circle authorities--who could object to the gift of some paper, or a single coin?

In which Fenris is a practical elf, and accidentally tells Anders through tokens that he likes him VERY MUCH. But (at first) Fenris has no idea, and Anders is daily more baffled and suspicious.

OMG this is just adorable!

Thankful

Hello, yes, still alive. Checking in every day is hard when my life mostly consists of working and sleeping :-p

This week hasn't been to bad though. Actually I've been so busy I haven't had time to go running at all which is annoying. Hoping to get back into it tomorrow.

Was supposed to go to the cinema on Monday but the weather was awful. Really windy and absolutely chucking it down. My umbrella broke as soon as I opened it so just walking from the car to my house resulted in me getting soaked. So I cancelled, got into my PJs and played Dragon Age instead.

Tuesday we went to see Fantastic Beasts. It was okay. I'm not the biggest Eddie Redmayne fan, nor the biggest Harry Potter fan but I enjoyed it. I was kind of more interested in the supporting characters than the main ones though, but that's pretty normal for me :D

Wednesday I went grocery shopping. That is in no way interesting.

Thursday I went to see Arrival, which was the film I was supposed to have gone to see on Monday. LOVED IT! I'm always excited to see sci-fi movies with a female lead, but it was a really interesting and clever idea too. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Friday I was on pumpkin pie duty. For the past few years it's been a tradition for a bunch of us to get together the Saturday closest to Thanksgiving and have a feast. Mostly because we were jealous of all the nice food the Americans get to have and we wanted in on that :D Ever since I've finally been able to get cans of pumpkin locally it's been my job to provide the pie. I am honoured to fulfill this most sacred of roles.

So yesterday was our Thanksgiving and we had so much fun. There was an abundance of pie :D
